Shasta Climbers Coalition
What We Do
Community Involvment
We work to foster a welcoming climbing culture by offering educational programming and resources on climbing ethics, responsible crag use, safety, and environmental awareness. Through community events, partnerships with land managers, and collaboration with local organizations, we aim to broaden access, raise awareness, and build positive connections between climbers and the broader public.
We coordinate the inspection and replacement of aging fixed hardware in partnership with route developers and land managers, helping preserve both climber safety and long-term access. We also care for our local crags through trail work, clean-ups, and erosion control to keep climbing areas safe and sustainable.
Stewardship/ hardware Replacement
advocacy
We advocate for climbers by building strong relationships with land managers, local agencies, and community partners to protect and expand responsible access. By representing the climbing community in public discussions and land-use planning, we work to ensure that climbers have a seat at the table and that our crags remain open for future generations.
